Jordan Legal Requirement

Since April 1, 2025, every invoice issued by a business in Jordan — including school fee receipts — must be cleared through the national Jofotara system (managed by the Income and Sales Tax Department, ISTD) before it is legally valid. Invoices not submitted to Jofotara are invalid for VAT deduction and accounting purposes, with penalties of up to 500 JOD per invoice.
